Where can you find vintage home decor?

From the flea market to instagram. You can find vintage home decor in many places. Depending on what you are looking for of course:

Marketplace

Do you know exactly what you are looking for? Then you can use the search function of Marktplaats.

Instagram

Are you a fan of vintage? Then there are enough Instagram accounts that you can follow with the most beautiful vintage gems. If something comes along, you can send a message to Instagram, you pay per tikkie and voila it arrives at your home.

Facebook Marketplace

Marktplaats and Facebook marketplace are similar. If you know what you are looking for, you can easily place a search here. I do recommend to always look at both, someone who offers something on Facebook marketplace does not necessarily have to put it on marktplaats. It is always worth looking.

Vintage shops

Every city has a few vintage shops. These shops often sell medium to large furniture such as dressers, dining tables and mirrors. If you want good advice and want to see the object up close, a vintage shop is ideal to buy your vintage home accessories. Most vintage shops offer a delivery service if your newly purchased vintage design cabinet does not fit in your car!

The thrift store

The Valhalla for vintage, if you have patience. If you are really looking for a specific vintage, the thrift store is not always ideal. The thrift store is not a place where you have different and sometimes multiple of 1 product like in a traditional store. It is sometimes worth going to the thrift store several times in a row.

But that's what makes thrift shopping so much fun, you never know what you'll find!

The flea market

At the flea market you never know what you will find, but there is always something to find. Vintage home decoration can be scored here for a small price, if the right people are there. You see more and more that you can pay with tikkie but also take cash (small) money with you. You don't want to miss your pearl because you don't have any money ;-)!

Vintage markets

Vintage markets are perfect to score vintage home decor. Everything that is sold is vintage and the sellers (almost) always have the best stories about the objects. Not only fun but also educational!

Etsy 

Etsy is an American online platform that focuses on handmade and vintage products. Etsy itself does not sell, but there are thousands of sellers who offer their stuff. Vintage home decoration is therefore in abundance here. The nice thing is that you are not only bound to the Netherlands, you can also buy from other European sellers and/or outside Europe. You can find the most beautiful things on Etsy. Be prepared to sometimes pay the top price…
